Be part of a creative team this summer with
theatre pro Kyra Messinetti

A 5-day musical theatre intensive designed to help young performers aged 7 and up build confidence, creativity, and stage presence.

Through acting, singing, and dance, students will collaborate on a fully realized mini production and perform in a finale showcase open to families and the Waimea community.

  • Musical Theatre Choreography:
    Daily movement and ensemble dance routines tied to the production.

  • Acting & Character Development:
    Scene study, improvisation, and building authentic characters.

  • Scene Work & Storytelling:
    Script reading, blocking, and narrative structure.

  • Creative Set & Prop Building:
    Hands-on art activity. Students co-create the stage world.

  • Final Performance Preparation:
    Tech rehearsal, stage confidence, and showcase polish.

Kyra Keli Messinetti (Ms KK to her students) is a performer, choreographer, educator, and host for Big Island Television. She currently teaches ballet, tap, jazz, and musical theatre at Prince Dance Institute and is the choreographer for Carousel with Hawaiʻi Performing Arts Festival (HPAF). Most recently, she appeared as Inga in Young Frankenstein with Waimea Community Theatre.

Kyra trained in musical theatre at the Pinellas County Center for the Arts and continued her acting education at the New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts. She has been performing and dancing since childhood and is passionate about helping young artists build confidence, creativity, and a lifelong love of the performing arts.
